CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - From hoop skirts and bonnets to men's jackets, the Charleston Museum is offering a chance to try on clothing from the Civil War era.
As part of its exhibit, "Threads of War," the museum on Saturday is allowing visitors to try on fashions from the 19th century.
Ladies will be able to try on hoop skirts to see what it felt like to wear multiple layers of clothing. Men will be able to try on period jackets and hats.
The event is part of the museum's ongoing programs marking the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. The event is free with regular museum admission.
