Downtown Charleston parade honors Martin Luther King

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Hundreds turned out in downtown on Monday to watch a parade honoring Martin Luther King.

Charleston Mayor Joe Riley led the parade, which is considered one of the largest in the state celebrating a man many consider the greatest civil rights leader of all time.

State representative Wendell Gilliard, and other elected officials from the Tri-county area all made appearances in the parade.

The Tri-county YWCA hosted the annual MLK day parade.
