2 injured after fire destroys James Island home

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) – Two people were injured after a James Island house was destroyed by fire Tuesday morning.

According to fire officials, the fire occurred in the 900 block of Pauline Avenue on James Island just after 6 a.m. The home is located near James Island Middle School off of Camp Road.

Firefighters say that two elderly people were home at the time, but they made it out of the house.

They were taken to the hospital with burns and smoke inhalation, but there is no word on how serious their injuries are.

Firefighters say the home is a total loss.
