NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Parents are being asked to pick their children up from Pepperhill Elementary School Tuesday morning after a partial electrical outage.
Charleston County School District operations staff and SCE&G workers are on-site making repairs.
CCSD said that with limited power and student safety as highest priority, parents are being asked to pick their children up. Teachers are calling parents directly and the school system is using Parentlink, its automated phone messaging service to call to all parents.
Students whose parents cannot pick them up will be safe and supervised at school. Well-lit rooms will be used to keep students through the afternoon and temporary heating is being brought in.
All students who are not picked up by parents will be sent home via bus at the normal time.
