COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina's first female governor is preparing to give her first State of the State address.
Gov. Nikki Haley will deliver the address from the state House Wednesday evening in a speech that will be televised on Live 5 Plus and on Live5News.com at 7 p.m.
Haley spokesman Rob Godfrey says the governor will talk about legislative successes she's already seen in the week since her inauguration. And she'll talk about how she sees the state moving forward.
The speech will help set the tone for Haley's honeymoon with legislators who frequently bickered with former Gov. Mark Sanford during his two terms.
House Speaker Bobby Harrell says it is clear Haley wants to get to work with legislators.
