NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Work on the new Boeing assembly building at the Charleston International Airport will get a more finished look this week as the outer doors are put in place.
Work has begun to frame and install the building's outer door sections. The north and south end of the building feature eight individual sliding sections, each measuring more than 100 feet tall and 58 feet across.
Door installation is due to be completed in February and building construction is still on track.
The building features the largest open span of any Boeing building, measuring approximately 460 feet between columns.
