CVS shooting duo faces judge in bond court

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Two suspects charged in connection with a shooting that happened at a CVS near Summerville, faced a bond court judge Thursday night.

A bond court judge set 19-year-old Joseph Bulgarino's bond at $60,000 and 25-year-old Brian McConnell's bond was set at $90,000. The two suspects were being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.

Authorities arrested the two men Wednesday. The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office responded to the shooting at 6:55 p.m. at the CVS off Highway 17 and Royal Road. One victim, a 17-year-old boy from Summerville, was shot and remains hospitalized at MUSC.

The sheriff's office charged both Bulgarino and McConnell with attempted murder in connection with the shooting that happened Tuesday night on North Main Street in Sangaree.

With the assistance of the Charleston Police Department, Bulgarino and McConnell were taken into custody early Wednesday afternoon at a residence in Charleston.

Berkeley County deputies say the incident appears to be drug related.
