COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation says they will be continuing construction tonight on Segment 2 of the U.S. 17 ACE Basin Parkway widening project.
Operations will begin Sunday through Thursday (January 30-February 3) from 7p.m. to 6p.m. for clearing and grubbing operations adjacent to the northbound travel.
All motorists traveling through the project area are asked to be aware of equipment and crews in the vicinity of the roadway. Speed will be reduced to 35 miles per hour in areas where roadwork requires land closures.
Flaggers and lane closures will be present to control traffic while this work is conducted. Motorists will experience traffic stopping and certain areas and are urged to use caution while in the construction zone.
SC DOT is also asking the public to notice traffic control signs, reductions in speed limits and message board information.
