SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) – The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that happened outside a Summerville nightclub early Sunday morning.
Deputies were contacted by Summerville Medical center after a male victim showed up with a gunshot wound to the arm. The victim declined to talk with deputies, but instead told them to speak with his wife about the incident. The victim's wife told deputies that her husband was shot by a man she had a previous affair with outside Club NV.
The woman told authorities that she returned to the club after 2 a.m. to pick up a friend. When she arrived she saw a man she had a previous affair with, but did not speak to him. Later, after retrieving her friend, the two exited the club where, according to the witness, the man was staring down her husband.
According to the victim's wife, she was getting into the car with her husband and her friend when the man approached the car and said to the victim "Tell your wife to stop calling me or I will beat her 'expletive' again."
The witness told deputies that the man then walked to a truck and returned to the victim's car and reached into the open passenger window. Next, the victim's wife said she heard "a noise that made her ears ring," and then saw her husband slumped over. He told her to drive to the hospital because he couldn't feel his arm, a report stated.
No charges have been filed, but the shooting is still under investigation.
