Goose Creek man arrested for child pornography

COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) - Deputies arrested a 61-year-old Goose Creek man on Wednesday for child pornography.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has charged James Howard Reid for distribution of child pornography.

According to investigators, Reid's computer was seized for forensic examination and files containing pornographic images were found on that computer.

Reid is charged with 28 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony offense punishable by two to 10 years imprisonment on each count. Investigators say Reid is charged with sharing digital photographs and/or videos over the Internet depicting children engaged in sex acts.

The United States Naval Criminal Investigations Service participated in the case. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
