Bus carrying Charleston students crashes into trees

ADAMS RUN, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office was called to a bus accident that occurred Saturday afternoon on 174 in Adams Run.

The driver was traveling east on Old Jacksonboro Road when they failed to yield to oncoming traffic. According authorities the driver overcorrected and left the road going into a ditch striking several trees.

Deputies say the bus was carrying about 28 students from Baptist Hill High School ROTC. The bus was returning from a parade in Denmark when the accident happened.

EMS transported six students with minor injuries to Roper Hospital and St. Francis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries

The driver Leonard Mack from Walterboro has been charged by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
