Dorchester County council tables proposed smoking ban

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) – The Dorchester County Council plans to hold off on talks concerning a proposed smoking ban.

At Monday night's meeting, councilman David Chinnis brought up an alternative plan for businesses to be able to post signs letting their customers know if smoking is allowed, if that business is smoke free or if it has designated sections for smoking.

The council voted to table the idea for now.

The smoking ban could come up for discussion when the council meets again in March.
