ISLE OF PALMS, SC (WCSC) – Charleston County officials held a meeting Wednesday night to discuss plans to widen the Isle of Palms Connector and make changes to improve Rifle Range Road Intersection.
As part of the fiscal year 2011 intersection improvements projects allocations, the Isle of Palms Connector would be widen to accommodate additional lanes in each direction. The Rifle Range Road intersection improvement would also alleviate congestion of daily traffic.
Wednesday's meeting was to get people to share their thoughts about the project in these areas. The project would be funded by the Charleston County Transportation Sales Tax.
Charleston County Project Coordinator, Richard Turner said, the feedback they've received so far has been fairly positive and that they feel pretty good about the project going forward.
