Police: $50,000 worth of copper coils stolen from work site

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department are investigating a theft in Charleston where $50,000 worth of copper coils were stolen at a work site.

Authorities say the theft happened on 2245 Ashley Crossing Dr. The victim said that four roof top air conditioning units had their copper condenser coils stolen.

The victim told investigators that he left the job site on Saturday afternoon and returned Monday at which time one of the workers altered him of the theft.

The victim said that if the units had to be replaced it would cost around $50,000.
