CBS News correspondent brutally attacked in Egypt

EGYPTY (CBS) - A CBS news correspondent was brutally raped and beaten while covering the chaos in Egypt.

CBS announced on Friday, moments after Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down, Lara Logan was covering the event in Tahrir Square when she and her team were separated.

According to CBS, a mob of more than 200 people whipped into a frenzy and Logan suffered a brutal sexual assault and beating. She was eventually saved by a group of women and 20 soldiers.

Logan is currently back in the US and is in the hospital recovering.
