JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) – One of the victim's in a two-car accident on Folly Road was discharged from the hospital Thursday.
None of the victims in Tuesday's fatal crash were wearing their seat belts, according to a spokesman with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office says that the driver of a Ford Explorer with four people inside, crossed over the center line and struck a 2004 Ford F-250 on Folly Road. According to investigators, the F-250 then ran into a house.
The driver of the Explorer was the owner of the vehicle and was the fatal victim in the accident. The Charleston County coroner identified the victim as 19-year-old Meghan Corbett of Charleston. She died of blunt trauma.
Kristen Marie Hunt was discharged Thursday while the other victims in the Explorer are still hospitalized. Brittney West, 18, of Ladson, is still listed in critical condition and Glenn Dale Chrise III, 18, of Charleston, has been upgraded to serious condition. The driver of the F-250 has been identified as 57-year-old Caroline M. Carl of Raleigh. There is no word on her condition.
"There were two people ejected from the Ford Explorer at least one of them has died and three have been transported as well as the person in the F-250," said Maj. John Clark with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
