MAULDIN, SC (WCSC) – A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested in Mauldin Wednesday on charges of criminal solicitation of a minor and dissemination of obscene material to a minor.
According to the Attorney General's Office, 27-year-old Gregory Thomas Loesch of 1926 Kiln Court, was engaged in online conversations of a sexual nature. According to authorities, Loesch sent graphic images to a person he believed to be a minor, who was actually an undercover officer with the Mauldin Police Department.
Loesch was arrested on one count of criminal solicitation of a minor and one count of dissemination of obscene material to a minor. Both charges are felony offenses punishable by up to 10 years each.
He was released on $10,000 bond on each charge.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department assisted with the arrest. Both agencies involved with the arrest are members of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
