Sustainable Seafood highlighted at SC dinner

CHARLESTON, SC (AP) - Art and sustainable seafood provide the backdrop for an event at a Lowcountry plantation.

The event at Middleton Place Plantation near Charleston on Saturday features six different entrees visitors can sample along with wine while looking at an art exhibit.

Sustainable seafood efforts make sure species aren't being over fished and that they are harvested with methods that don't endanger other fish and seafood.

Megan Westmeyer, the coordinator for the South Carolina Aquarium's Sustainable Seafood Initiative, will be on hand to talk about fisheries and selecting environmentally friendly seafood.
