Charleston Waterkeeper Hosts run for clean water

FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) – The College of Charleston Master of Environmental Studies Student Association (MESSA) hosted their Ninth Annual 8K for H2O Saturday morning.

The five-mile run took place in front of the Folly Fishing Pier on Center Street at around 9a.m. The funds from the run benefited the Charleston Waterkeeper to help raise awareness and to improve the quality of local water supply.

More than 200 people participated in last year's five-mile run and raised nearly six-thousand dollars.
