WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) – Authorities have identified a man that was fatally shot in West Ashley Monday morning.
The Charleston County Coroner's Office says 26-Year-old Alex Greene died of a gunshot wound.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. at 1942 Boeing Avenue, which is just a few blocks from Savannah Highway and Wappoo Road. When Charleston County sheriff deputies arrived on scene they found a male victim who had been shot multiple times.
According to witnesses, the victim was at the house watching the NBA All-Star game with several friends. Sometime after the game, the victim left the residence and shortly after witnesses reported hearing five to six gun shots, police said.
Witnesses immediately went outside and found the victim on the ground by his car. Police said that no one actually witnessed the shooting and there is no motive at this time.
