COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) – Two men were arrested Saturday in connection with two different armed robberies at financial businesses in the Lowcountry.
The State Law Enforcement Division arrested 31-year-old Christopher Donnell Simmons, of Wadmalaw Island, and 28-year-old Raynard Christopher Eady, of Charleston. Both men were arrested Saturday in connection with two different armed robberies.
Simmons is charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. According to investigators, Simmons robbed the Cash Advance in Georgetown at gun point last Friday. Police say that Simmons forced the store employee into a back bathroom and closed her in the room while he robbed the store.
Simmons was arrested by Berkeley County deputies on Saturday afternoon and was booked at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.
Eady is charged with armed robbery after police say he robbed the US Money Shops in Moncks Corner on New Year's Eve. Investigators say Eady held two victims at gun point while removing approximately $2,200.
Eady was arrested by the SLED SWAT Team and members of the Lowcountry Joint Enforcement Team on Saturday afternoon. He was booked at the Charleston County Detention Center.
Eady and Simmons are being looked at as persons of interest in other Lowcountry robberies.
