Motorcycle and car accident kills one in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - An accident involving two motorcycles and a car killed a 21-year-old man on Ashley Phosphate Road at Hunters Ridge Wednesday afternoon.

The coroner's office says that Devon Jenkins of Charleston died after his motorcycle ran into a Volvo on Ashley Phosphate road.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, two motorcycles were going west on Ashley Phosphate when a Volvo turned onto the road from Hunters Ridge.

Authorities say the first motorcycle, driven by Jenkins, hit the car's side. After the first impact, another motorcycle ran into the downed motorcycle. The 19-year-old person driving that vehicle was not hurt.

The 22-year-old driver of the car was taken to Trident Regional Hospital. The highway patrol says that Jenkins was not wearing a helmet.
