COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said the state will implement federal health care laws even though it will continue fighting the new requirements in court and in Congress.
South Carolina is among 26 state suing to stop the health care system overhaul passed last year. Those states said in legal filings Thursday they should be allowed to immediately stop following the law after a Florida judge ruled it was unconstitutional.
That's what Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell said he would do last week.
Haley said Friday that while she supports those legal challenges and work in Washington to repeal the law, she will continue to implement it in case those efforts fail.
