Park and recreation commission buys McLeod Plantation

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The Historic Charleston Foundation has sold McLeod Plantation for $3.3 million to the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission.

The PRC agreed to buy the plantation in October from the Historic Charleston foundation with plans to restore the site and open it to public use.

Park and recreation commission officials estimate it will cost an additional $2.9 million for stabilization, repairs and to fulfill the agency's master plan for the property.
