Troopers: 2 killed by drunk driver in Colleton County

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - An elderly man and woman were killed Sunday after authorities say they were struck by a drunk driver on Interstate 95 in Colleton County.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 70-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man were traveling north near Walterboro around 5 p.m. Sunday when 34-year-old Christopher Gregg, of Delaware, swerved into another lane and hit the elderly man and woman's SUV. Troopers say the crash forced the SUV off the road and into a tree.

The elderly man and woman, both of Columbia, were killed in the crash. Their names have not been released.

Authorities have charged Gregg two counts of felony DUI involving death.
