Sheriff's office releases photos of forklift taking Pawley's Island ATM

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office have released photos of a forklift stealing an ATM Monday morning.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to the BB&T Bank located at 11403 Ocean Highway in Pawley's Island around 4:30 a.m. in reference an ATM alarm. While en route, the alarm company advised deputies that the suspect used a forklift to lift and steal the ATM.

The suspect was driving what appeared to be a white Dodge king cab pick-up truck and used a fork lift stolen from a construction site next door to lift and load the ATM. The suspect fled the area in an unknown direction of travel, according to a police report. The ATM contained an undisclosed amount of cash.

The incident is under investigation and more details and surveillance video will be released when it becomes available.
