Video released of attempted murder suspect resisting arrest

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Goose Creek police say a man head butted an officer after they arrested and charged him with trying to kill his girlfriend with a butcher knife.

Video of the suspect, Christopher Rosell, resisting arrest was caught on tape. First, police say Rosell damaged a police car and when they tried to take him to jail, Rosell resisted arrest. Video released from the Goose Creek police station shows officers putting Rosell in a police car for a trip to the Berkeley County jail.

It appears on the video that Rosell is not cooperating with police. Investigators say Rosell head butted one of the officers outside the patrol car near the booking room door.

Police eventually got control of the suspect and took him to jail. The officers making the arrest were not hurt.

Rosell wound up facing a laundry list of charges, including attempted murder. He is accused of attacking his girlfriend with a butcher knife while she was holding her 2-year-old daughter.

Goose Creek police say it happened early Sunday morning in her home in the Boulder Bluff subdivision. Police say Rosell's girlfriend was also punched and kicked.

She's bruised and has a cut on her hand from the butcher knife. The toddler was not hurt.
