Police investigate deadly shooting in Murrells Inlet neighborhood

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) - One person is dead after police say he was shot multiple times in a Murrells Inlet neighborhood.

The Horry County Coroners Office confirmed that 35-year-old Kevin Bowens, from Drayton Street, died as a result of the shooting. Several neighbors reported hearing gunshots before seeing two cars flee the scene.

Shortly after the shooting police stopped two vehicles off of Highway 707 and arrested multiple people that they believe are connected to the shooting. They are still looking for one suspect who ran away from the scene.

The incident happened on Drayton Court in the Kings Grant subdivision and is still under investigation. An autopsy will be performed Wednesday morning at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.
