SAN DIEGO (CNN) – An Olympic athlete received her gold medal back after it was stolen during a burglary.
"I feel very fortunate because most Olympic medals, if they're lost or stolen, you don't have this kind of a happy ending," said Olympic gold medalist Tristan Gale Geisler.
Geisler received her gold medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, UT.
The medal was stolen from her Oceanside, CA, home in January during a break-in.
Oceanside police tracked down the alleged crooks and got the medal back.
Three men have been charged in the crime.
