Hundreds drawn for SC run, endurance competition

CHARLESTON, SC (AP) - Hundreds are expected at The Citadel for a competition which involves a 6-mile endurance and team-building competition.

The Bulldog Challenge scheduled for Saturday in Charleston consists of experiences a Marine might encounter on the battlefield.

In addition to the race, participants must do pull-ups, fireman's carry, move through the marsh and run at the college's football stadium. It takes from one to two hours to complete.

Participants include college students, military and law enforcement personnel, Citadel cadets, health professionals and athletes. The event is sponsored by the chapter of the Semper Fi Society on campus.
