CROSS, SC (WCSC) - Both suspects involved in a shooting in Cross Sunday have been taken into custody on Monday.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, 30-year-old Hannah Elizabeth Dean, of Hanahan, turned herself in to authorities. She faces charges of accessory after the fact.

Berkeley County sheriff's deputies later arrested Dean's boyfriend, 29-year-old Derrick Alexander Smith, of Cross, during a traffic stop on Highway 45 in Cross. Authorities say the couple shot and injured two people Sunday afternoon.

Deputies were called out to 1234 Spiers Landing Road in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, they found two people injured.

The sheriff's office identified Smith as the shooter. Deputies say the shooting happened after Smith got into an argument with a resident at the home. The two people that were shot were bystanders and not the intended target.

Smith is charged with two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
