Sheriff: Man arrested after accepting mailed packages of pot

Frederick D. Calvin Frederick D. Calvin

ST. GEORGE, SC (WCSC) - A Dorchester County man is facing marijuana trafficking charges after authorities intercepted a package containing marijuana in St. George.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office received a call from a United States Postal Service Inspector on March 7 stating that a package containing 10.24 pounds of marijuana had been intercepted.  The package was addressed to an address with a fake name in St. George.

On March 10, authorities received another report of an illegal package.  This time the package contained 3.25 pounds of marijuana and was destined for the same address and same fake name.

Last Friday, members of the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit conducted an undercover delivery of the two packages to the address, 127 Davis Terrace Road.  Frederick D. Calvin answered the door and took the packages before he was promptly arrested.

Calvin is charged with trafficking in marijuana.
