NEW YORK (CNN) - The number of Americans who think the economy is in bad shape has risen to its highest level in two years, and gas prices may be to blame.
A recent CNN poll showed 84 percent of Americans rate the economic condition of the country as poor, which is up 9 points from January.
Two-thirds of those surveyed say their families are having a hard time getting by with rising gas prices, and nearly 80 percent of respondents think gas could hit $5 a gallon by the end of the year.
The survey of 1,023 adults also found that 38 percent of Americans think unemployment is our country's No. 1 problem.
