Highway patrol seeks vehicle involved in hit-and-run accident

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says it is looking for a vehicle involved in an accident Saturday night that killed a pedestrian.

The accident happened on SC Primary 47 in Orangeburg County around 8 p.m.

Troopers say the victim was driving a motorcycle south on the roadway when he struck a deer and fell off the bike. They say the vehicle-in-question then proceeded to strike and kill the pedestrian, who was lying in the roadway, before fleeing the scene.

Reports indicate the four door vehicle was tan or gold in color. It is believed to be a 1992 to a 1996 Toyota Camry. The highway patrol said it likely has damage to the front of the car or to the undercarriage.

If you have any information about this accident, you are asked to call Crimestoppers.
