WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - The Colleton County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a suspect that broke into a woman's home by kicking her door in.

Authorities say it happened last Friday at a home on Red Bank Road in Walterboro. The victim said that she heard someone knock on the front door four times then kicked open by the suspect.

The male then approached the victim, touched her on the arm and said,"Sit down and don't move."

According to investigators, the suspect stole the victim's black Liz Claiborne purse which had gold and green threads in it. The purse contained money, gold wedding bands, a small round faced white gold watch with a broken band, a black cell phone and the telephone's cord.

A witness said he heard a crash and a scream. The sheriff's office say the witness then got dressed, grabbed his pistol and flashlight.

The man then saw a small car in the victim's yard. A male then got in the passenger side and the car sped off at a high speed, according to the witness.

The victim describes the suspect as being a white male between 18 and 20-years-old with a dark complexion, 5'8", short hair, wearing a knit shirt, and had short pants that came down to his knees.
