Before the shooting, BCSO deputies witnesses reported that Tolbert and two of his friends were involved in a series of fights.
After the shooting, Tolbert fled the scene. The victims were taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Jenkins was treated and released. Brown remains hospitalized and his condition is unknown.
Tolbert was taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center where he awaits trial. His bond has been set at $50,000 for each murder charge.
