McCLELLANVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Forestry Commission responded to 57 wildfires across the state Wednesday.

Of the 57 wildfires, 14 are contained, but have not been declared controlled. Firefighters will be returning to these fires Thursday to check containment lines.

The US Forest Service is managing the Rifle Fire on USFS lands on the Francis Marion National Forest. This fire is approximately 2,000 acres.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Allendale, Beaufort, Charleston, Colleton, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties.

Outdoor burning should be postponed, if possible.

The SC Forestry Commission is operating at high readiness levels, with all SCFC firefighters available for dispatch.
