GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - A 22-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after police say she ran over a 42-year-old man at a gas station on Thursday.
The Goose Creek Police Department arrested Auriel Neisvana McConnell of Summerville. According to a police report, McConnell had hit another vehicle with her car and was attempting to leave the scene when the victim stopped her.
Police say other vehicles than began to block McConnell from leaving the area. The man told authorities he was then able to get in front of McConnell's car and place his hands on the hood.
According to a police report, McConnell told the man that she was going to turn around and park. When it was evident McConnell was not going to park but leave the area, the man and another person attempted to get in front of the vehicle, police say.
When the man attempted to move to the side of the car, authorities say McConnell hit the gas and struck him in the left leg, ran over his foot and caused him to fall to the ground.
McConnell eventually returned to the scene with her husband. McConnell told officers that she didn't know what to do because she had never been in an accident.
When officers asked why she ran over the man McConnell said,"I asked him to move."
McConnell told authorities that she had hit the woman's vehicle and wanted to leave the area.
