SULLIVAN'S ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a 29-year-old man that was missing was found dead on Sullivan's Island Sunday morning.
The coroner's office says that Thompson Barnwell of Charleston possibly died from drowning and no foul play is suspected. Police say they were looking for Barnwell after he went missing last Monday.
Investigators say Barnwell was found near station 16 on Sullivan's Island around 7:30 a.m. by a jogger.
According to a police report, the body appeared to have trauma on the upper front of the victim's head, but there was no clear sign of injury. The initial time of death, according to police, appeared to be two days ago.
The female jogger who found the body told police she did not notice any footprints or tracks leading up to where the body was discovered.
