Authorities say suspect kicked in door, robbed resident near 4 a.m.

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are looking for a man they say kicked in the door of a residence earlier this month and robbed the resident.

The Colleton County Sheriff's Office and Crimestoppers are looking for the suspect in the March 18 robbery. They say a while male with dark complexion knocked on the front of Red Bank Road residence at 3:40 a.m. and then kicked the door in. Once inside, authorities say the man ordered the victim to sit down and not to move.

According to investigators, the suspect then proceeded to rob the victim, stealing a black purse containing over $100, two gold wedding bands, one small round faced white gold watch and a cell phone.  According to the victim, the suspect fled the scene in a small vehicle that traveled west toward Maple Ridge Road.

The victim was able to work with a sketch artist and provide a description of the suspect to the police.

The suspect is described as a white male with dark complexion. He stands at 5'8" with short hair and was wearing a long sleeve knit shirt and short pants.
