Trio arrested for armed robbery at parking lot

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested three people accused of robbing a man at an apartment parking lot in North Charleston.

The North Charleston Police Department charged 18-year-old John T. Williams, 19-year-old Mark Obrian Gathers and a male juvenile with armed robbery.

Officers responded to the St. Charles Place apartments in reference to an armed robbery.

The 32-year-old victim told officers that as he was leaning against a friend's car, two men came from behind and demanded his belongings. According to the victim, he heard two guns being cocked and gave the two suspects his cell phone and a gate key card.

Authorities say they were able to locate the male juvenile and Gathers in the area and located a black handgun found laying near the suspects.

Williams was also found in the area and found to be in possession of a handgun, according to a police report.

All three were locked up at the Charleston County Detention Center.
