4 crime scenes, 1 dead as investigators try to piece together violent night

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County sheriff's deputies are still trying to identify a suspect in what authorities are calling a "Run and Gun" battle on James Island.

Investigators say a fight started around 2 a.m. Wednesday at the Creekside Cafe on James Island. Shots were fired about 45 minutes later at the Kangaroo Express at Folly and Camp Road.

Authorities are looking for a man they believe shot at a gold Chevy Impala. Deputies found that same car after it crashed into a tree on Folly and Central Park Road.

Detectives found 22-year-old Antwan Wilson shot to death inside the car. Two passengers were taken to MUSC. There is no word on their conditions.

Authorities say surveillance video shows a black male, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, who began waving his arms around and then began to shoot at a gold Chevy Impala. The victim, Wilson, then jumped into the vehicle and left the scene, a sheriff's office report states.

Deputies also responded to a crime scene on Highway 61 and Wappoo Road in West Ashley around 3:13 a.m. A 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass was found at the scene turned sideways on a sidewalk. According to authorities, gunshot holes were found on the car.

Investigators believe all three of these incidents stemmed from the fight at the cafe.
