FREEPORT, TX (KHOU/CBS) - A captain of a small fishing boat caught a much larger fish than intended when chumming the waters of the Texas Gulf Coast.
A 375-pound mako shark attacked the 25' fishing boat after the boat's captain threw bait into the water to attract red snapper. Instead, the bait enticed the shark enough for it to leap out of the water and into the small fishing vessel.
No one was injured in the incident. Except the mako. The shark is being displayed at a local seafood company for now, while the boat is heading off to the repair shop.
