20-year-old injured in shooting in Ravenel

Another shooting in Ravenel left a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg early Sunday morning.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5700 block of Highway 165 at 3:43 a.m. on Sunday.

Another shooting occurred in Ravenel earlier in the weekend.

The victim told police that he was walking down the road when he was approached by 4 people who attempted to rob him.

During the attempted robbery, the victim was shot in the right leg, police say.  He was transported to Summerville Medical Center and is expected to recover fully.

The victim said his assailants were black males who appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties.

The first subject stood about 6'2" and weighed about 160 pounds had ear-length dreadlocked hair and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, according to the victim. 

The second subject was about 6'1" and weighed about 185 pounds.  He was wearing a black windbreaker with white strips and had a medium-sized afro.

The third suspect was about 5'11'' and weighed 160 pounds.  He was wearing a red, longsleeve shirt and had short hair.

The last suspect was about 6'3" and weighed about 175 pounds.  He was wearing a white sweatshirt and had short hair.

    If the final reading of a proposed James Island ordinance passes on Thursday night, it would prohibit people from loitering outside restaurants, sleeping in parks and make it against the law for people to sleep in their cars or campers in parking lots.
