Cops arrest 11 people for drugs in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department arrested nine people at a hotel for drugs early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to the Days Inn on 2998 West Montague Ave. in reference to a report of a large crowd that were in possession of a large amount of narcotics.

According to investigators, one of the female suspects had shoved several items into her underwear that her boyfriend had given to her to hide.

An officer said that he recovered a glass pipe and a baggie containing a leaf substance from the female suspect. Among the drugs seized from the defendants were nine grams of marijuana, 44 grams of meth and 45 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Police arrested the following people:

21-year-old Brent O'Neill
19-year-old Bonnie Coleen Sams
22-year-old Diana Rachel Bernath
23-year-old Mathew Justin Fisher
19-year-old Jeremy Robert Earnshaw
21-year-old Kyle Nicholas Milton
17-year-old Joshua Bell
17-year-old Kara L. Buffington
21-year-old Charles Hubert Barnwell

Two other men were arrested on unrelated drug charges on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday afternoon undercover officers arrested 21 year old Steven Jackson after making an undercover buy of marijuana on Mosstree Drive.

On Friday night, officers arrested 21 year old Derrick Willingham after a traffic stop at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Davis Street.

Police say they found a loaded gun in Willingham's car and marijuana in his pants pocket.

A background check revealed both suspects have prior arrest on weapons and drug charges.
