Southwest flights cleared for take off after authorities inspect aircraft

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - All southwest flights in and out of Charleston are clear for take off. At last check there were no delays or cancellations.

An older fleet of Boeing 737 aircrafts underwent thorough inspection for cracks on Monday. Inspectors have found cracks in at least three more jets following a terrifying incident on a plane Friday.

A hole ripped open in a Southwest jet during flight more than 34,000 feet in the air.

Southwest officials say they only expect to cancel 70 more flights or 2 percent of its schedule Monday today.

If you are flying either Monday or Tuesday with Southwest,  the airline recommends that you check their website for any flight delays or cancellations.
