DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Fire Department officials say that a fire on Daniel Island that had multiple agencies responding was an accident.
Mark Ruppel with CFD says that the fire was accidental in nature and originated from within a room in a locked suite on the second floor of a building.
Fire officials say the specific cause has not been determined with a number of electrical/electronic items removed from the area and will be examined further by engineers hired through the insurance company.
The March 1 fire had multiple fire engines and firefighters responding to battle the blaze that shut down two businesses.
Charleston city firefighters were called out after 2:30 a.m. to the building in the 800 block of Island Park Drive where flames were reportedly shooting from the roof up to forty feet in the air.
