HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - Beaufort County officials say they have found the bodies of a father and son who were reported missing by their family after failing to return from a fishing trip.
Sheriff's Sgt. Robin McIntosh said in a news release that the bodies of 51-year-old Edward Jones and his 30-year-old son, Fredrico, were found in a pond on the north end of Hilton Head Island on Tuesday morning.
The search had begun there the night before after families members told officials that the two liked fishing there.
The sheriff's office says there is no evidence of foul play and the state Natural Resources Department is investigating their deaths as possible drownings.
