Elementary students use iPads in Charleston County

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A group of elementary school students in South Carolina is using some of the hottest new technology to help them learn.

Students in three classes at Drayton Hall Elementary have been using Apple iPads for three months.

Students in one kindergarten, one first-grade and one third-grade class at the school use the iPads as part of a pilot project on expanding technology in the Charleston County School District.

The students use the devices for everything from writing poems to learning parts of speech.
