(CNN) - Toyota said its assembly lines in Japan are just days away from rolling once again, at least temporary.
The world's biggest automaker announced it will resume production on April 18. Work will continue at half-capacity through at least April 27, with a factory stoppage on April 20 for maintenance.
Toyota will use the period to evaluate its production capability and possible parts shortages following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
Executives said their biggest challenge since then has been getting the needed electronics, rubber and other parts needed to produce cars.
